The Director, e-Commerce Strategy and Operations will serve as the leader of e-Commerce function supporting GSK’s US Pharmaceuticals businesses. This includes responsibility for the development and execution of e-Commerce strategies that support direct sales of GSK products to HCP customers. The Director will oversee GSK’s e-Commerce ordering platform and ensure business and customer needs are translated into innovative e-Commerce strategies and tactics. The role includes accountability to ensure all transactions are processed timely and comply with Sarbanes Oxley controls. The Director all service level requirements are met, manage day to day operations and play an active role in project support.

As a member of the Channel Operations Leadership Team, the Director will also be accountable for fostering a performance-based team culture, maintaining high quality standards/controls and ensuring an exceptional customer focused approach with industry leading system support. The Director will seek to understand, anticipate and translate evolving customer/marketplace e-Commerce needs into actionable ordering/e-Commerce strategies. This includes formulating system functionality to support the GKS’s business and the evolving commerce needs of GSK’s direct purchasing customers.

This role will provide YOU the opportunity to lead key activities to progress YOUR career, these responsibilities include some of the following:
Oversee, and flu vaccine channel operations support including system readiness and new strategy implementation (multiple customer segments, multiple e-Commerce avenues)
Collaborate with US Pharma Tech and GSK revenue cycle stakeholders, business units and others to implement ecommerce technologies that meet customer needs.
Lead a team of e-Commerce Managers and Analysts. Develop team objectives, promote a high-performance culture focused on people development and engagement.
Understand the evolving customer ordering and digital e-Commerce needs in relation to the immediate and long-term overall Channel Strategy across all customer segments.
Formulate and execute an e-Commerce roadmap strategy (EDI, web, etc..) that assimilates customer processes, customer preferences and customer decision making.
Data reporting and trending, score carding & metrics on e-Commerce customer insights and opportunities across all customer segments.
Liaison to US GSK business unit(s), helping to translate business and customer needs into innovative e-Commerce strategies and tactics.
Lead e-Commerce innovation at an enterprise level supporting the creation of digital and e-Commerce capabilities to support organizational and customer needs.
Continuously monitor business and legal risk and compliance relating to use of e-Commerce platforms and assign appropriate monitoring and controls to manage risk to GSK.
Manage customer and internal stakeholder communications to ensure that all are well informed and kept up to date with issues and priorities related to our systems.
Where appropriate, represent the interests of GSK at industry conferences, focus groups, user groups, etc. to champion new and enhanced system functionality.

Basic Qualifications:

We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:
BS/BA Degree
5+ years pharmaceutical, e-Commerce or related experience (Vaccines, pharma B2B, etc.)
Demonstrated management experience leading a team

Preferred Qualifications:

If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:
MBA and/or advanced business degree or equivalent
Knowledge of US healthcare systems, pharmaceutical distribution channels and drivers
E-Commerce experience including familiarity with SAP Hybris e-Commerce platform
Agile Project Management experience
Deep knowledge of analytical and database reporting tools
Demonstrated skills in coaching, developing and leading people
Experience with process improvement methodologies (e.g. BPI, Lean Sigma, etc.)
Experience with risk management, Sarbanes Oxley requirements & managing high impact, compliance driven processes
Strong communication, negotiation and influencing skills
Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced, highly matrixed organization
