About this role

Position Overview

Commercial Strategy & Analysis Associate in BlackRock Solutions (BRS), Aladdin Business – a major component of BlackRock’s Technology Services.

The successful candidate will be the go-to partner for financial and business performance knowledge and data-driven decision support for the Aladdin business.

This person will know how to complete detailed financial analysis and effectively communicate results to leadership.

This person will be a strong critical thinker who is innovative, and solutions oriented.

Key Responsibilities

Contribute to all Aladdin COO Team strategic finance activities supporting BlackRock Solutions:

  • Design and build financial projections, track performance and understand deviations from actuals to drive strategy and operational rigor.

  • Embed with business leads to provide strategic finance insights and evaluate business assumptions throughout the organisation.

  • Provide ad-hoc analysis and insights that influence our business plans and add value to the business.

  • Define metrics and deliver concise reporting and analysis of business performance to ensure key drivers, issues and required actions are deeply understood.

  • Execute corporate finance initiatives such as evaluation of partnerships and inorganic opportunities in collaboration with Corporate Development.

  • Develop ROI analyses to support business cases for investment and enable insight-led decision making.

  • Interpret results to build a cohesive story around performance, working with Investor Relations and senior leadership, including the Global Executive Committee.

Skills & Qualifications

  • 3+ years of work experience.

  • Focused attention to detail and high standards for quality and accuracy in work product.

  • Professional, positive demeanour. Collegial orientation, relationship builder who is solutions oriented.

  • Ability to deliver in fast paced environment with tight deadlines and multiple demands.

  • Strong quantitative and problem-solving skills.

  • Proven proficiency in financial modelling and multi-dimensional analytical tools.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication, and presentation skills.

  • Understanding of accounting principles and guidelines.

  • Investment Banking or Strategic Finance background strongly preferred (MBA and Software industry knowledge a plus).
